Bogazici University Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

 

Our Missions

• Producing top quality chemical engineers equipped with sufficient knowledge, skills, confidence and sense of responsibility, committed to ethical values, capable of adapting to rapidly changing conditions and aware of the significance of life-long learning.

• Producing scholars committed to learning and teaching, who have the potential, desire and discipline for research and development,

• Conducting top level original research,

• Providing support services to all sectors in the manufacturing industry and primarily to the chemical sector, in accordance with the most recent technological developments.


Program Educational Objectives

1. Our graduates will contribute to the chemical and biochemical industries by playing key roles in designing, developing, operating, and maintaining chemical and biochemical engineering processes and tools ,

2. Our graduates will pursue graduate studies in leading academic institutions and will participate in chemical engineering research at the international level,

3. Our graduates will engage in life-long learning and will be ready to cope with competitive and rapidly changing industrial and academic environments.

Student Outcomes

The graduates of the chemical engineering program are expected to have:

a) An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering,

b) An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data,

c) An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet the desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability,

d) An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams,

e) An ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems,

f) An understanding of professional, ethical and social responsibility,

g) An ability to communicate effectively,

h) The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and societal context,

i) A recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in life-long learning,

j) A knowledge of contemporary issues,

k) An ability to use the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice,
