The aim of this course is to further your understanding of the fluid mechanics that you acquired during your undergraduate studies. In order to work in a compact way we will first introduce the tensor analysis. As fluid mechanics deals with vectors and tensors, a thorough undersntading of the subject is necessary. Then, we will move to fluid mechanics and introduce the concept of continuum. We will derive the mass balance and momentum balance equations. We will find some problems we can solve analytically. The syllabus of the course is attached as a pdf file.

We will have 2 mid-term exams, a homework almost each week, a project, and a final.

Academic Honesty:

Students are bounded by academic honesty. Student may discuss the homework. However, copying someone else’s homework and asking/getting the solution from someone/somewhere else or allowing someone else to copy your homework is cheating and a violation of academic honesty. The result is failing the course.
